Hello everyone, today I will share some things about my university. I'm in the second year of dentistry at the University of Chile. From the first year, we study general subjects like physics, chemistry, among others, but we also have courses directly related to the career. As the years go by, we start delving deeper, and there are only dentistry-specific subjects that only we study. Because of this, the academic workload is quite heavy, and we have quizzes, exams, and assignments all within the same week, which can be quite stressful. Typically, the program lasts for six years, but statistically, students often take longer, as it's quite common to retake certain courses.

Regarding the university facilities, they are very basic and old, more resembling a small school than a large dentistry faculty. However, in terms of academics, it's quite good. Generally, the professors employ effective teaching methods. Currently, we have in-person classes, and they upload the study material to the "u cursos" platform, which greatly facilitates our studies. In my opinion, they are making good use of technology tools, taking advantage of new technology that didn't exist before. On the other hand, I feel that the clinics have not been updated with the necessary technologies to properly care for our patients, which can make certain aspects of patient care more challenging. In the end, like any university, it has its pros and cons. I hope you enjoyed the blog!

  1. Hi Cata! I totally agree that u-cursos is a very good platform that helps us study and I hope they improve the clinic later so that patients have better care
